Scope and Topic
This 19th WIEN2k workshop deals with density functional (DFT)
calculations of solids using the (full-potential) Augmented Plane Wave
plus Local Orbitals (APW+lo) method as embodied in the WIEN2k code (http://www.wien2k.at) or related
topics.
The workshop covers three aspects:
- Introduction to DFT, APW+lo, and WIEN2k
- Applications using WIEN2k code (and related methods)
- Lectures on and exercises with WIEN2k

a) JR
will take you to the JR Shinjuku station (Limited express "NARITA EXPRESS"
90 min., JPY 3110)
b) Keisei
will take you to the Nippori station (Limited express "SKY LINER" 36 min., JPY 2400)
Local trains are also available to Tokyo area by both of JR and Keisei.
- by bus
Airport
Limousine will take you to many hotels and stations in central Tokyo (approx. 2 hrs. depending on the trafic,
JPY 3000).
from Tokyo area to Nishi-Waseda Campus of Waseda Univ.
The nearest railway station is Nishi-waseda station on Subway Fukutoshin-line, which is just under the Nishi-waseda Campus.
You can get the Campus via Exit 3 of the Nishi-waseda station.
Two JR railway stations, Takadanobaba and Shinookubo are also
available, which are 15min. walk distance to the Nishiwaseda campus.

- Registration Fee: JPY 20,000
- Visa: Some of overseas participants may be required to have a
valid visa to enter Japan. The organizers can issue only a confirmation
letter telling that she/he is attending the workshop. No other documents
can be issued because of limited time and man power of the organizers.
